My o' My, How Things Change. I Never Even Noticed.
by AK - Jeff infour years ago when i first came to this site, i was quite actively still proving, and reproving to myself that i did the right thing in leaving my lifelong religion as a jehovah's witness.
some of the key components of my research were found at randy's site, especially the section on 'spiritual food at the proper time', a listing of thousands of watchtower quotations without commentary.
another was the 'quotes' site, and spin-offs of those ideas in a site called 'reexamine'.. i had bookmarked many of those sites.. now, just out of boredom, and with a desire to find a couple of favorite watchtower quotes for use in a future bit of blogging, i find that none of the above are even there anymore.

As I stated, this subject has been coming up a lot lately. A number of posts in the last couple of weeks shows some interest in this subject. Many saw the You Tube videos of "Bible Jim" explaining the Trinity to a couple of Jehovah's Witnesses. my grandson has paused his walk after 2 days because his 10 year old sister, aubrey, has had a terrible accident.
she fell off of a bike, slamming into a tree going downhill.

I went to a JW get-together last night
by BonaFide inso here in the jw complex, well, 90% are jw's, a couple of my friends had a bbq yesterday.
i was invited.
they had heard about some of my comments and questions regarding the organization, but i guess they forgot about that.. the friends there were from three different congregations.

Reniaa, here are some quotes from a few Watchtowers you might like. "Being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live and also by the laws of God through Jesus Christ, we can take action against apostates only to a certain extent, that is consistent with both sets of laws. The law of the land and God's law through Christ forbid us to kill apostates, even though they be members of our own flesh and blood family relationship.Watchtower Nov.15,1952 page 703. And how about this one--"Jesus encouraged his followers to love their enemies, but God's word also says to hate what is bad. When a person persists in a way of badness after knowing what is right, when the bad becomes so ingrained that it is an inseparable part of his make-up, then in order to hate what is bad a Christian must hate the person with whom the badness is inseparably linked." Watchtower July 15,1961 page 420. There are several other examples in the literature I won't bother to quote unless you need further proof of who is hating who.
